DJ Shah (ranked #21 DJ in the world) will be performing with Adrina Thorpe at Mighty 119 club in San Francisco 10/4/2009. This is their debut performance together!

As the songs for Adrina Thorpe's sophomore album were collected over the course of a few years writing, a theme emerged, with concepts of light, dark, day, night, shadows, midnight, sunlight, starlight etc... weaving in and out of the lyrics. It gradually became evident that this was a thematic album, and the songs are ordered to progress from dark to light.

With that in mind, the name of Adrina Thorpe's new album will be

Halflight & Shadows

Another great collaboration by DJ Shah and Adrina Thorpe, "Back To You" (DJ Shah feat Adrina Thorpe) was signed to Armada Records. The Remix, DJ Shah feat. Adrina Thorpe - Back to You (Aly & Fila Remix) releases this month on A State of Trance 2008 (Armin Van Buuren).

Out of about 600 entries, Adrina Thorpe's song "Midnight" was a top 10 finalist in Star 98.7's Make a Star contest!

Billboard Magazine's Cortney Harding recently interviewed Adrina about her fan funded album. A little blurb, they said: "California-based singer/songwriter Adrina Thorpe created a tiered system that rewards supporters with everything from copies of her forthcoming album to personalized songs thanking them for their donation."

Just in the initial stages, there is so much support. It is incredible!

Adrina Thorpe collaborated with DJ Shah (internationally famous DJ who also remixed Sarah McLachlan's Wintersong album) on a track. Their collaboration is called "Who Will Find Me" and Adrina created the melody/lyrics and recorded them to the track DJ Shah made. "Who Will Find Me" (DJ Shah feat Adrina Thorpe)  was signed to Armada Records, and will be released on DJ Shah's Songbook album as well as on A State of Trance 2007 by Armin Van Buuren (world's #1 DJ)

"Fly Fly Fly" from Adrina Thorpe's debut album, Elusive, is the #1 most podcasted track on the Podsafe Music Network. This month, Adrina Thorpe's debut album, "Elusive" was the #1 most downloaded album on mp3tunes.com out of 32,000 albums!

"Wistful" (from Adrina Thorpe's debut album, Elusive) was a nominee for the Just Plain Folks Award.They screened over 350,000 songs and 25,000 albums and selected only 9 nominees in the female singer/songwriter category. Adrina Thorpe's album  "Elusive" was also nominated in that same category.

Teaming up with Tuscany Italy based producer, Filippo Gaetani, Adrina Thorpe begins recording her sophomore album this month. Expect songs with a much darker feel this time around.
