I had the pleasure of performing at the Shrine Auditorium in LA w/DJ Shah last night, for crowds of incredibly energetic people. And lots of them wearing furry colorful boots. Although I had an "artist" badge, some security guy wouldn't let me use the restroom, and I had my first (and hopefully last) diva moment, involving me saying a silly statement I never dreamed would leave my lips "am I wearing furry boots!???" lol

Do NOT get between a woman and the restroom! Especially before she has to sing! My husband would cringe if he knew I were typing this, but oh well. This day made me laugh more than any in years.

So... I had the chance to perform with DJ Shah in San Francisco at the Mighty 119 club. It was mind blowing for me, because I am used to performing tame little gigs where I sing and play the piano and people listen quietly and clap when I am done. Here, they were chanting my name and singing along with gusto! Even making hearts at me from the audience or reaching for my hand. Did I just eat too much pizza and have a strange dream? It was really quite fun. DJ Shah did an amazingly fun set of his songs, and the crowd was wild. We will be doing some more gigs together later on this year, and I'm looking forward to it.

My adventures into the dance/trance/electronic world are quite fun, and I wanted to congratulate my collaborator, DJ Roger Shah, on receiving the ranking of 21st DJ in the world via the DJ Mag, and congratulate Armin Van Buuren for getting the ranking of #1 DJ in the world again! It is so much fun to be working with both of them. Also, Armin mentioned two years in a row that "Who Will Find Me" was his favorite track of the year. Exciting news! I got a single track SIGNED to Armada Records!!! I'm very excited. I did a collaboration co-writing a song called "Who Will Find Me" with DJ Shah. Our collaboration got signed to Armada records and also got specially selected to be on Armin Van Buuren's 'A State of Trance 2007' album which is already receiving rave reviews. Two of my songs ("fly fly fly" and "did you think") got licensed to be featured (which means they are very prominent in the show) on an upcoming Lifetime TV special called "My Name is Sarah" starring Jennifer Beals which will be airing TONIGHT Saturday June 2nd in the United States. I have yet to see the show because... drum roll please... I don't have cable. I'm not much of a tv watcher. But, they are mailing me the dvd, and I'm very anxious to see it!

A while back, some friends of mine wanted to do a music video for me my song "fly fly fly". So... they designed a rocket for me to fly in because they were hoping to make me literally FLY in the video. Well, we never did get around to organizing the whole thing and I got busy recording new songs... but here is a video of his song flying as the "rocket boy". I'd say it's better than making me fly! It made me laugh and I think I've watched it at least 20 times already. Check it out. :)

I don't really enter many contests...ever... but just happened at random to enter these two contests this year and was pleasantly surprised with the results. My song, "round the bend" also won 4th in the unisong song contest and 3rd in the people's choice category. My song, "wistful" was recently nominated for the just plain folks music award.They screened over 350,000 songs and 25,000 albums and selected only 9 nominees in the female singer/songwriter category. My album "elusive" was also nominated in that same category.
